Symbolism

SHIELD

The barry wavy flaunches (left and right sides of background) allude to coastal waters, the domain of the Coast Guard. The trident is indicative of naval activities as well as being armed for combat. The life ring signifies search and rescue operations. The Pike fish is in honor of the ships namesake.


CREST

The Golden Gate Bridge is in tribute to the ships area of responsibility. The top of a flag poles truck (ball) and finial (eagle) signify observation and protection. The eagle is also a symbol of the United States and bears the arms of the nation.


MOTTO

The motto, READY THREE SIX FIVE, personifies the spirit and dedication of the officers and crew. The call out refers to the ships class designation of WPB 87365.


SUPPORTERS

The Coast Guard Officer sword and enlisted cutlass represent the authority, professionalism and dedication of the crew in the accomplishment of their mission.
